Meta to launch "incognito chat" feature on WhatsApp

Meta Platforms (META.O) announced on Wednesday that it is launching a new "incognito chat" feature in its WhatsApp instant messaging service's AI assistant, aiming to address user concerns about data privacy. Meta stated that incognito chat will rely on private processing technology to ensure that conversations are not visible to anyone, including the company itself. "Your conversations are not saved, and messages automatically disappear by default—giving you a space to think and explore ideas without anyone watching," Meta said in a blog post. In the coming months, WhatsApp will also launch "Sidechat," a private AI assistant based on Private Processing, which will provide users with context-aware private AI assistance within their existing conversations.
