Doubao plans to launch paid subscriptions in late June and deeply integrate with Douyin e-commerce.

On June 1st, according to 36Kr, Doubao, under ByteDance, plans to officially launch paid subscriptions in late June, offering multiple tiers from basic to professional, with monthly fees up to 500 yuan and annual fees up to 5088 yuan, while continuing to offer free services. Sources familiar with the matter said that Doubao will integrate with Douyin e-commerce in the third quarter to improve paid scenarios, driving traffic to Douyin Mall through subsidies, entering the operational phase in the fourth quarter, and will not use paid penetration rate as an assessment indicator in 2026. Doubao has already integrated with Douyin e-commerce, testing the insertion of product recommendations in conversations, with a conversion rate of over 3% for relevant product card clicks followed by viewing the detail page since April. Doubao APP had approximately 336 million monthly active users in April, ranking second globally among Chatbots.
