Cardano wallet service provider SecondFi released a security incident update stating that a white-hat team participating in its Asset Recovery Fund has deposited some recovered assets into a recovery fund address established by EMURGO for transparent tracking of asset recovery progress. It emphasized that this address is for viewing only and users should not transfer assets to it. SecondFi reiterated that it will not ask for private keys, mnemonic phrases, or wallet credentials, nor will it proactively contact users via private messages or emails. It warned that fake SecondFi browser extensions and applications have appeared on the market, and the official extension is only available on the Chrome Web Store with a blue verification mark. Users are advised to obtain links and information only through secondfi.io and official support channels.
