Solana Policy Organization Urges Senate to Vote on Clarity Act Crypto Bill as Soon as Possible

en
On July 29, according to The Block, the US Solana Policy Institute sent a letter to the bipartisan leaders of the Senate, urging them to push the Clarity Act digital asset bill into a voting procedure before the congressional legislative window closes in early August. The bill aims to provide regulatory clarity for US crypto developers, institutions, and consumers, and to establish a "non-monetary transmission" safe harbor for non-custodial software developers through the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act. The latest Republican version also adds an ethics clause prohibiting federal public officials and their spouses from issuing or sponsoring digital assets, with the relevant clause set to expire on January 20, 2029. SPI stated that the bill would help prevent "overreach" by regulators and criminal enforcement against software developers and maintain domestic development momentum in the US.
