Brale Launches ION Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol to Solve Custom Stablecoin Liquidity Bottlenecks with Burn-Mint Model

en
July 29th News, according to CoinDesk, stablecoin infrastructure company Brale has launched ION Protocol, which allows participating stablecoins to cross-chain by burning on the source chain and minting an equivalent amount on the target chain, without needing to pre-fund liquidity pools on every supported chain. Brale states that it currently supports over 100 stablecoin projects on more than 30 blockchains; as the number of custom stablecoins and blockchains increases, the capital locked by traditional liquidity pool or wrapped token models will rise in tandem. ION adopts a burn-and-mint mechanism similar to Circle's CCTP, but is aimed at any participating stablecoin issuer. The protocol will first launch on testnets with partners including Monad, Rain, Coinflow, Turnkey, Etherfuse, Spark, and Canton, before expanding deployment.
