On July 29, according to CoinDesk, Citadel, which manages $67 billion in assets, expects the Federal Reserve to unexpectedly raise interest rates by 25 basis points on Wednesday, while cryptocurrency and traditional market analysts generally expect rates to remain unchanged. Citadel's Head of Macro Strategy, Frank Flight, stated that a rate hike would "decisively end the era of forward guidance," forcing markets to price in data rather than policy expectations, and "clarify the Fed's independence." CME FedWatch data shows a 35.8% probability of a rate hike, up from 25.7% a week ago, but the market mainstream still bets on the Federal Reserve holding steady. Bitcoin has fallen below $64,000 from nearly $67,000 last Wednesday, with cautious trading in the market. Citadel believes that waiting until September to raise rates would weaken the policy's impact, and given rising oil prices and escalating inflation pressures due to tensions with Iran, a July rate hike is more reasonable.
