On May 20, according to The Block, stablecoin infrastructure startup Checker has raised a total of $8 million in Pre-Seed and Seed rounds, with investors including Galaxy Ventures, Al Mada Ventures, and Framework Ventures, as well as Bitso, Airtm, DFS Lab, Onigiri Capital, SNZ Capital, and Velocity. Checker offers a single API for institutions, helping financial institutions engaged in B2B cross-border payments access stablecoin liquidity, accounts, and compliance capabilities. It currently serves over 30 licensed institutions globally, processing over $3 billion in stablecoin transaction volume in the past 12 months, accounting for approximately 1% of the global annual transaction volume for B2B stablecoin payments. The company plans to use the new funds to expand into the Brazilian, Kenyan, Hong Kong, and US markets, and to launch embedded lending (settlement financing) and AI agent tools for account opening, compliance review, and fund management.
