Mastercard Partners with Chainlink to Establish Direct Fiat-to-Crypto On-Ramps

On May 29th, according to Finance Feeds, payment giant Mastercard has partnered with decentralized oracle protocol Chainlink to establish a direct fiat-to-cryptocurrency gateway for its global users. This collaboration allows Mastercard cardholders to acquire digital assets directly within on-chain smart contracts, bypassing centralized exchanges. Shift4 Payments will handle the initial card transaction layer, while Zero Hash will be responsible for compliance tracking, custody routing, and instant fiat-to-crypto settlement. Ultimately, funds will be pushed to public distributed ledgers via Chainlink's infrastructure and integrated with the Swapper Finance platform, which leverages XSwap to source liquidity from decentralized exchanges like Uniswap. This integration compresses card processing, regulatory review, cross-chain messaging, and AMM swaps into a single, seamless transaction.
