P2P.me Team Apologizes for Prediction Market Betting Incident, Pledges to Inject Profits into MetaDAO and Formulate New Trading Policies
en
On March 28, P2P.me's team publicly admitted that the Polymarket betting account "P2P Team" discovered on-chain was indeed their team, and apologized for the betting incident.
P2P.me stated that 10 days before the fundraising launch, they bet with foundation funds on "themselves completing over $6 million in fundraising." At the time, there was only a verbal commitment from Multicoin ($3 million), with no signed term sheet or guaranteed allocation. Subsequently, they actually raised $5.2 million, all from external independent investors.
P2P.me acknowledged that trading on outcomes they could influence damages trust. However, P2P.me claimed that they deliberately named the account "P2P Team" to convey a presence to the community and demonstrate transparent intentions. But intentions do not equate to actions. They admitted that failing to disclose information at the time was a mistake and that criticism regarding the ban was also reasonable.
P2P.me stated that all profits from their prediction market positions will be reinvested into the project's MetaDAO treasury. They will liquidate all positions within the next few hours and are developing a formal company policy regarding future prediction market trading.
