US SEC Revokes 50-Year-Old "No Denial" Settlement Rule

en
On May 19, according to CoinDesk, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has rescinded the "no-deny" rule, which has been in place for about 50 years. The new rule allows defendants who reach an enforcement settlement with the SEC to publicly question or deny the allegations made by the SEC in enforcement actions. Previously, defendants were typically restricted from publicly refuting related allegations after signing a settlement agreement.
