On March 18th, it was reported by CCTV that IMO Secretary General Dominguez stated at the 36th Special Session of the IMO Council that the military strikes launched by Israel and the United States against Iran have led to multiple security incidents in the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in the deaths of seven seafarers and leaving approximately 20,000 seafarers stranded at sea in the Persian Gulf. Dominguez urged all parties present at the meeting to propose constructive measures to resolve the current situation and help ensure maritime safety.
