ZuriQ Completes $25.5 Million Seed Funding Round to Develop Novel Quantum Chip Architecture

On July 28, according to Sifted, ZuriQ, a spin-off from ETH Zurich, has completed a $25.5 million seed funding round to develop a novel quantum chip architecture. The company claims its architecture is more scalable than existing methods and can enable rapid scaling of quantum computing technology. ZuriQ's technology is based on trapped-ion quantum computing but employs a completely new chip design that is expected to overcome the scalability bottleneck of traditional trapped-ion systems. The company was founded by a research team from ETH Zurich, with core members possessing years of academic and industrial experience in quantum computing. This funding round will be used for further research and development and team expansion to accelerate the commercialization of its quantum chips.
