Block proposes to restructure organizational forms with "companies as intelligent agents," weakening middle management.

en
On March 31, Jack Dorsey's payment company Block is attempting to replace traditional hierarchical management with an AI-driven "company world model + customer world model," operating the company as a "mini-AGI" intelligent agent. Block has accumulated all decision-making, code, and collaboration data through a remote-first work approach, allowing AI to build a panoramic view of the company's operations in real-time. It utilizes the high-density transaction data generated by Cash App and Square as "real customer signals." Based on this, Block is no longer centered around a fixed product roadmap but revolves around four components: financial foundational capabilities, dual world models, an intelligent orchestration layer, and multi-terminal interfaces. Organizational roles are compressed into ICs, DRIs, and "player-coaches." The primary information routing function of middle management is taken over by the system, and demand gaps generated by AI will directly drive product capability development in reverse.
