On May 19, according to Fortune, compliance technology startup Eisen announced the completion of a $10 million Series A financing, bringing its total funding to $18.5 million. Investors include MissionOG, Index Ventures, and First Round Capital. Eisen provides a one-stop "escheatment" (escheatment to state government) compliance and customer recovery service for brokerages, fintech, and crypto platforms, helping to locate users before assets become dormant and prevent funds from being transferred to the state government. Co-founder and CEO Allen Osgood stated that U.S. states currently hold approximately $70 billion in escheated funds, including stocks and crypto assets. Among the crypto assets Eisen is tracking, an estimated $700 million are at risk of being disposed of by state governments by 2026, with multiple states already considering crypto assets as escheatable property.
