Interactive Brokers launches personal crypto asset trading in Europe

Interactive Brokers announced on March 31st, according to Business Wire, that it has opened cryptocurrency trading to qualified individual investors in the European Economic Area through its Irish subsidiary. Users can trade 11 mainstream cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Dogecoin, alongside stocks, options, futures, forex, bonds, and funds on the existing platform. The service supports 24/7 trading, charges a commission of approximately 0.12%-0.18% based on transaction value, with no spread markup or custody fees, and supports limit orders. Crypto trading is enabled through integration with the regulated infrastructure provider Zero Hash, covering a market of approximately 450 million potential users and available on the full suite of terminals including Trader Workstation, IBKR Desktop, and IBKR Mobile.
