UK FCA Lists Hyperliquid and Hyper Foundation as "Unauthorised" Entities

On June 5, according to Decrypt, the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) issued a notice on May 21, designating Hyperliquid, Hyper Foundation, and their applications and social accounts as "unauthorized" entities. The FCA stated that they may be offering or promoting financial services in the UK without authorization and advised users to avoid trading with them. Concurrently, CME Group CEO Terry Duffy warned that crypto perpetual futures (perps) could become a "potential disaster," questioning the CFTC's approval process for such "novel and complex" products. The article points out that Hyperliquid, as one of the major decentralized perps platforms, has recorded approximately $255 million in revenue as of May 20 this year, and its HYPE token has risen by about 101% during the same period. Amidst increasing global regulatory pressure on the perps market, Hyperliquid is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
