On May 21, according to Zhejiang Daily, the Ningbo Customs Anti-smuggling Bureau recently, after in-depth operations and meticulous investigation, successfully busted multiple criminal gangs smuggling virtual currency "mining machines", effectively cutting off an illegal industrial chain. Previously, during routine inspection of a batch of imported express mail declared as "industrial circuit breakers", Ningbo Customs found that the actual goods did not match the declaration and were actually virtual currency "mining machines". Customs officers quickly transferred this clue to the anti-smuggling department. Upon receiving the report, the Ningbo Customs Anti-smuggling Bureau immediately assembled a task force with elite personnel. Through data analysis and clue investigation, the organizational structure and operating model of the criminal network were gradually clarified. When the time was ripe, they decisively launched a coordinated crackdown in Dongguan and Shenzhen, Guangdong, successfully dismantling multiple smuggling mining machine gangs. It was verified that in this series of cases, more than 400 "mining machines" of brands such as Ant L9 and Ice River KS3 were seized for illegal entry. After investigation, it was found that the smuggling gang led by Liao, in order to seek illegal profits, purchased "mining machines" from overseas suppliers, dismantled the machines, falsely declared their names, and smuggled them into the country through international express mail channels from ports such as Ningbo and Guangzhou. After the goods entered the country, the gang reassembled them, either selling them directly in China or transporting them to hidden "mining farms" in Xinjiang, Hunan, and other places for 托管, engaging in illegal virtual currency "mining" activities. At the same time, they used virtual currencies such as USDT for cross-border payment and settlement, thereby evading capital supervision.
