March 19th News, according to Bloomberg, prediction market platform Polymarket is seeking to appoint a Chief Risk Officer to expand its regulated business in the United States. This move is in response to a request from the CFTC, which stipulates that Polymarket's US operations must have a Chief Risk Officer for oversight. However, CFTC rules prohibit the listing of certain controversial contracts in the US, such as those related to international wars, which are still offered in Polymarket's international business. Before seeking a Chief Risk Officer, Polymarket has expanded its legal team in recent months, including hiring several lawyers from institutions such as Sullivan & Cromwell, RBC Capital, and Proskauer Rose.
