The White House issued an executive order to advance AI innovation and cybersecurity in the United States.

en
On June 2nd, according to the White House website, US President Trump signed an executive order titled "Promoting Innovation and Security in Advanced Artificial Intelligence." The order emphasizes the need to enhance AI and cybersecurity capabilities through voluntary collaboration with the private sector, without establishing mandatory licensing or pre-screening systems. The order requires the National Security Agency, the Department of War, the Department of Homeland Security, and CISA to prioritize hardening federal and critical infrastructure information systems within 30 days and to promote AI-driven vulnerability detection tools and related federal funding. The Treasury Department will lead the establishment of an AI cybersecurity "cleanup center" to coordinate software vulnerability scanning and patching. It will also work with the NSA, CISA, and others to develop a framework for security assessments and voluntary access to "covered frontier models," allowing the government short-term access before the models are released to support critical infrastructure defense.
