Visa and Brale Explore Institutional Settlement Network Based on Private Stablecoins

Visa announced a partnership with stablecoin infrastructure platform Brale to conduct a proof-of-concept for institutional settlement using the USD-denominated stablecoin SBC, issued by Brale, on the Canton Network. This initiative aims to assess how privacy-enhancing blockchain infrastructure can facilitate faster, more programmable settlements while maintaining control over the visibility of sensitive settlement data. Visa has supported stablecoin settlements for VisaNet obligations since 2021. This planned evaluation will explore SBC as an additional settlement option and test the applicability of Canton Network's privacy architecture within real institutional payment flows.
