The US National Security Agency is using Mythos for hacking
en
On June 5, Semafor reported that the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) is using Anthropic's yet-to-be-publicly-released cutting-edge AI model, Mythos, for offensive cyber operations aimed at discovering and exploiting software vulnerabilities. The model, due to its powerful vulnerability discovery and exploitation capabilities, is only provided to specific agencies to help build defense systems. However, the NSA is accused of using it for offensive purposes, while the U.S. government is currently engaged in legal proceedings with Anthropic regarding related issues. Furthermore, Cloudflare pointed out that most current network traffic is generated by AI agents, some of which are malicious bots. Although these open-source models are not as capable as Mythos, the overall gap in performance compared to cutting-edge systems is less than a year.
